The "Sofitel Hotel Roissy" at Charles Degaulle Airport is an exceedingly pleasant place to stay either after a tiring flight or long drive or under any circumstances actually. As sleeping well is so important for long distance travelers, both before a flight and after, the Sofitel "MY BED" concept is designed to ensure the greatest possibility of just that. It consists of a super delux mattress, feather over mattress, duvet and luxuriously thick pillows to really assure you of a cozy and nest like sleep. The rooms and suites are totally sound proofed against the roar of landing and taking off jets.
Exterior appearances to the contrary (ultra modern grey cement fabrication), all the rooms and suites are well equipped and the interior design is homey and comfortable. Not the usual cookie cutter hotel furnishings.

Despite its modern exterior which resembles many airport hotel around the world, the inside is quite different as we described. But it does not stop there. What particularly struck us was the attention they have given to the extensive grounds, large for an airport hotel. They have planted parkland around the hotel complex filled with shady trees, pastoral grassy slopes and knolls, jogging trials surfaced with spongy jogger friendly asphalt with some sort of spongy material, benches, spinning bike machines, chin-up bars and other exercise facilities to work off stress and clear the system and releve pent up energy not to mention nirvana for pets!
It is away from the hurly burly of the bus and metro station and, other than the jets taking off and landing, a quiet stroll through the park, goes a long way to soothing the nerves. It is also perfect for children, the park provides them a lovely place to burn up their excess energy as well.

The hotel's restaurant, "Escale Brasserie" features a unique "Fresh Seafood Buffet" where you can pick your fish and dictate how you want it prepared. Or you can order off the menu where there are a variety of dishes to choose from. Although, quite frankly, we found the Sunday Buffet spread more to our liking. The menu tended to fussy, over thought and worked dishes. When we are on the road or just leaving/arriving from an air flight, we like to keep things simple. So Sundays are a great time at the Sofitel. Every morning, they have an extensive buffet breakfast spread catering to all cultural tastes.
There is a fitness center tucked away next to the garden with a small pool and gym. The comfortable bar/lounge is comfortable and calm with a piano lounge off to one side. The decore is modern and fresh with the rooms providing a more "homey" feel. The shuttle (vedette) leaves every 20 minutes to do the rounds of the terminals, bus and metro station and is quite large with plenty of luggage space.

Altogether a very pleasant place to rest, regroup and prepare for the next leg of your journey.

Sofitel Hotel Roissy Paris Charles de Gaulle Aeroport is located in the central zone of Roissy CDG international airport. The Asterix Park is located 10km away, the race tracks, Carole is also 10km away while the Stade de France is about 13km away. The Disneyland Paris is about 25km away from the hotel.
Location and access:
Take the A1 towards Charles de Gaulle airport and then take the exit for the airport. Then follow signs Autres Zones and Zone Centrale. The hotel is close to car park R. Due to the constant construction, be especially careful to look for sign posting, alterned and temporary sign posting, sign posting that comes up around very tight bends and around blind corners. So drive very slowly and carefully. This is all a one way system, so you may find yourself going around in circles. But this is the way CDG is designed.
