The main salon is still one of the best preserved and restored large Palladian salons in the country. At Christmas time with a fire roaring at both ends and a large Christmas tree in one corner, it was the perfect place to enjoy a Somerset cream tea after a bracing walk around the grounds in the crisp winter afternoon.
